3D Printing - prepare for fishing
Now that the Christmas list is all printed out, its time to get running with printing things for fishing. Ice fishing is hot and heavy throughout Alaska right now, but that's not my target technique/skill/event i'm aiming for.
Normally, I print the following (all designs freely acquired on Thingiverse.com) and put them to good use.
* stick bobbers
* lipless and lipped crankbait
* Apex style lures
* lures similar to MagLips and Flatfish
* treble hook covers
I'm curious to know what other ideas are out there for 3D printing fishing gear. I drop a google search, and some of it doesn't make sense to print due to the extra hardware required (bolts, wires, etc) whereas some of it does, such as lures, bobbers, etc.
Last year I designed a duck lure with dangly feet that floats after being inspired by other duck lures i saw online. It's really my first time dabbling in lure designing (outside of spinners) and I caught one Northern Pike with it before the old hook i used bent and was destroyed. I took the rings and hooks off of it. Its effective to say the least.
Any comments would be most helpful. I will update/edit this blog post later with some pics of previous things i've printed.
